I have taken the lead on a variety of prestigious magazine and web projects and high-concept strategic branding campaigns. This includes creating a new identity concept for a global automotive firm to address a worldwide shift from combustion to electric mobility, helping an influential art foundation clarify its messaging, and supporting a well-known energy drinks brand come to grips with a technologically complex content delivery project. I manage client relationships and deliver simple, emotive and imaginative solutions to complicated communication challenges, for niche audiences around the world.

In this freelance role I have worked on projects for global organisations and small challenger brands alike. I have been involved with ad campaigns for Microsoft and Uber; conducted photoshoots with Fatboy Slim, Seb Coe and Ellie Goulding; created magazines, websites and social projects for start-ups; developed marketing collateral for the BBC, Channel 4, and Channel 5; and video projects for Jacob’s Creek and ShortList magazine. I’ve dived into all aspects of media production for some of the biggest and most interesting brands in the world. Key projects have included:
• BBC: Created marketing collateral for a variety of TV shows, including Eurovision
• Primark: Contributed to the creation of real-world employee spaces
• ShortList Magazine: Video and photo projects for the launch of National Burger Week
• Milltag: Leading on key photography for several successive annual cyclewear collections
• Gleam: Content creation for influencers such as Zoe Sugg, The Saccone-Jolys and Jim Chapman

As editor I took the lead on creative projects for organisations including Canon, Arup, Unilever and Centrica. I managed the end-to-end production of hardback books, website content, strategic employee engagement projects, as well as video and photographic projects for national and global brands. I also commissioned agencies and freelancers such as the photographer, Rankin.
St. Bart’s and London NHS Trust – Media Development Manager (contract)

I developed a technology, media and publishing strategy with a view to modernising all internal communication channels within the teaching hospital. Incorporating new technologies into the learning environment, and developing print, web, video and in-person communication projects, I helped to revolutionise the hospital's perspective on training and comms both at the individual project level, and from an overall strategy perspective.
Mulberry Publications – Group Editor

I ran a portfolio of five b2b and consumer hobbyist magazines for this independent publisher, and was responsible for overall editorial strategy. My remit covered everything from editorial to design, building companion websites and exploring industry niches for the launch of new titles. I worked closely with designers, freelancers and ad teams, and built a community of readers for our titles.
eDesign Magazine, New York – Associate Editor

This influential print magazine explored tech design, from industrial design through to post-bubble web and a new thing called Social Media. As well as interviewing icons such as Robert Cailliau, co-creator of the World Wide Web at CERN, and Biz Stone, one of the founders of Twitter, I defined the editorial agenda, partnered effectively with the publishing and advertising teams, commissioned freelancers and managed an awards program for the New York digital design scene.
New Media Creative Magazine – Reporter

At the height of the dotcom boom I was writing about all aspects of creative interactive media – from web design to mobile technology, blogging and usability – for this monthly magazine. I interviewed leading names such as Ted Nelson, the father of hypertext, I built an online platform for the dissemination of digital art, and I published a book about online creativity.
When I’m not writing for clients, magazines, and all sorts of diverse audiences, I spend my spare time writing and self-publishing books, articles and hosting a podcast about personal development. I read a variety of mainly non-fiction books, from James Clear to Stephen R. Covey and Seth Godin. I’m also an accredited meditation teacher, have won awards as a professional photographer, and I write a column for Juno Magazine sharing my experiences as a first-time father.
